A three day backpacking trip with Kyle in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. August 17-19, 2007. This was his first time backpacking and first time in the Sierras. Day 1 was from South Lake over Bishop Pass into Dusy Basin. Day 2 was spent exploring the upper and lower Dusy Basin in Kings Canyon National Park. Day 3 was back over Bishop Pass to South Lake.
Kyle at the trailhead at South Lake. The beginning of his first backpacking trip in the Sierras. The air quality was less than ideal at this elevation, but was much better than the previous day. As we gained elevation, the air cleared up, and there was nothing but perfectly clear Sierra skies by about 10,500'.
