SierraNevadaHiking > cessna  > Hiking and Backpacking > Sierra Nevada Mountains > Yosemite National Park- July 2005
My first trip into the Sierras! July 2005, Chris and Heidi. Gallery includes Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite Valley, and Pohono Trail. Read picture captions for a more detailed trip report. Near perfect trip- only problem was my camera broke- forcing me to use disposable cameras the last couple of days!

cessna > Ellery Lake. We drove in to Yosemite on Hwy 120, Tioga Road.
cessna > Ellery Lake, just outside the Tioga Road entrance of Yosemite National Park.
cessna > Taken near Tioga Pass, Yosemite National Park. We hiked to a saddle at about 10,600 ft just below Gaylor Peak. We came from San Diego (sea level) that morning, so hiking at over 10,000 left us dizzy and sucking for air! From left to right- Mount Dana, Mount Gibbs, Mount Lewis, Parker Peak, and Kuna Peak.
cessna > Heidi above Dana Meadows. We intended to hike to Gaylor Lakes, but there was too much snow on the trail to make it down to the lakes. It was hard for me to get used to seeing so much snow when it was 90 degrees!
cessna > Mount Dana. From Gaylor Lakes trail.
cessna > Lembert Dome, Tuolumne Meadows.
cessna > Our new friends in Tuolumne. One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen!
cessna > One of the deer started to jump when he noticed us. Lembert Dome in the background.
